Richard Elder

Richard Elder is a Managing Director and Head of Global Portfolio Solutions (GPS). He is based in Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Elder was an Executive Vice President, Strategy & Growth, as well as the Chief Transformation Officer for Nouryon. Prior to that, Mr. Elder was a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he focused on transformation, strategy, growth across a variety of industries. He started his career as a U.S. Air Force officer.

Mr. Elder received his M.B.A. with honors from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. He received a B.S. in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
