Nicholas Rushgrove

Nicholas Rushgrove is a Managing Director and General Counsel (Investments) for APAC. He is based in Hong Kong, and has previously worked in Carlyle’s London office.

Mr. Rushgrove has a broad practice focusing on both domestic and multi-jurisdictional M&A. He has extensive experience of both private equity and credit investments and he has worked with a large variety of Carlyle’s investment teams across Europe, Asia and the Americas covering the full spectrum of investment strategies. He currently leads a team of lawyers covering Carlyle’s APAC investments.

Mr. Rushgrove is a member of Carlyle’s Legal Investments team which has been recognised as the Most Innovative In-House Legal team for Developing New Business and Service Delivery Models. The team has also won the prestigious award of ‘Setting a New Standard’ for In-House Legal Teams at FT’s Innovative Lawyer Awards. In 2018, they also won In-House Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards and were named to the GC Powerlist for 2018.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Rushgrove was an Associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom (UK) LLP. Mr. Rushgrove received his B.A from the University of Oxford (Christ Church). He is a qualified Solicitor of England and Wales.
