Aernout Boot

Aernout Boot is a Senior Advisor focused on the international energy sector.  He is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Previously, Mr. Boot served as Managing Director of VTTI Asia where he led their flagship oil terminal in Malaysia as well as development and growth opportunities in Asia and Australia. From 2010 to 2013, Mr. Boot served as Global Commercial Director for VTTI, where he was responsible for VTTI’s global network of oil terminals. Prior to that, he held management roles with Vitol in Dubai, UAE and Vopak in Fujiairah, UAE. Mr. Boot started his career in the oil industry as a management trainee at Petroplus in 1998, where he worked in the Swiss terminal business based in Zug, Switzerland and was also instrumental in the development of the Dragon LNG project in Milford Haven, Wales, and ultimately moved on to a role in Petroplus Dubai.

Mr. Boot holds a doctoral degree in Arabic language and Middle Eastern studies from Leiden University.
