Matthew Settle

Matt Settle is a Managing Director on the Credit Opportunities Team, focused on junior capital and opportunistic credit investments. He is based in New York.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Settle was a Managing Director at Guggenheim Partners where he worked for nine years. Most recently, Mr. Settle focused on sourcing, evaluating, and structuring junior capital and opportunistic credit investments across all industry verticals. Previously, he oversaw the tech, media, telecom, and industrials industry verticals. Before joining Guggenheim in 2010, Mr. Settle was an Analyst at MJX Asset Management where he focused on investing in broadly syndicated leveraged loans. 

Mr. Settle serves on the board of Futures and Options, a non-profit organization focused on providing career development and internship opportunities to high schoolers from underserved communities in New York City.
Mr. Settle received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business.
