Anna-Louise Oliver
Anna-Louise Oliver is a Managing Director at The Carlyle Group and General Counsel (Europe) for the Global Legal – Investments Team. She is based in London and has previously worked in Carlyle’s New York office.
Anna-Louise has extensive experience working closely with investment teams in executing cross border mergers & acquisitions across a number of funds at Carlyle, in various disciplines including private equity, credit opportunities, and distressed debt. Anna-Louise leads a team of lawyers overseeing EMEA investments as well as Infrastructure and Renewables investments globally.
Anna-Louise is a member of Carlyle’s Global Legal Investments team which has been recognised as the Most Innovative In-House Legal team for Developing New Business and Service Delivery Models. The team has also won the prestigious award of ‘Setting a New Standard’ for In-House Legal Teams at FT’s Innovative Lawyer Awards. In 2018, they also won In-House Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards and were named to the GC Powerlist for 2018.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Anna-Louise was an Associate at Ropes & Gray, London, where she focused on private equity M&A. She grew up in New Zealand, graduated from the University of Otago with a conjoint degree – Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Spanish, admitted to Honours). Anna-Louise is admitted to the High Court of Barristers and Solicitors in Auckland, New Zealand.
